The 52nd annual prize distribution of St. Xavier’s College and Higher Secondary School was held recently where the university rankers and recipients of prizes and scholarships were felicitated at the hands of the Chief Guest Deputy Chief Minister Adv Francis D'Souza. Gulam Ansari and Mamata Verlekar were crowned Mr. and Ms. Xavier. A play written by Alice D’Cruz on the life of St. Francis Xavier, titled “Faith on Fire” was also released by Adv. Francis D’Souza.The event also included an entertainment programme comprising of mandos, Christmas carols, classical and contemporary dance, a magic show, poetry declamation, a street play, and a skit ‘The Sacristan and the Miser’ an adaptation of a short story by Lambert Mascarenhas.
