Drishti Lifesaving Pvt Ltd has termed the call of strike given by lifeguards has "illegal and unjustifiable without any resonable cause". The company has also appealed to the lifeguards not to proceed with the strike considering the peak tourist period in the state.

In a press statement, Drishti has pointed out that the strike call has been given by a union that is not recognized by the company, adding that the union has not served any memorandum of membership to Drishti.

The company has also stated that no demand or petition has been made by its lifeguards regarding discrimination or favouritism in promotion, and arbitrary or discriminating treatment. Drishti has also stated that lifeguards at the time of employment were informed and made aware of their salary, increment, duties and responsibilities.

Regarding the union's demand to re-employ 17 workers who were terminated, Drishti has sought to clarify that these 17 persons "were never employees of the company", and termed the union's demand as "absurd, irrational and without merit."

Of 549 lifeguards of the previous contractor, Drishti has claimed that it appointed 534 on the same salary they were earning, although there was no compulsion to pay any amount more than Rs 10,500 CTC. According to Drishti, "the whole exercise is to mislead 650 lifegaurds in order to coerce the government into enabling the union to fulfil a promise made to the 17 persons for which and from whom the union collected registration fees and monthly subscription."
