Renowned actor and director, Nana Patekar, will be the chief guest at the Goa State Cultural Awards to be held on December 20 at Institute of Menezes Braganza Hall, Panaji. Minister for Art and Culture, Dayanand Mandrekar, and MLA Sidharth Kunkolienkar will also be present for the occasion.
The Directorate of Art and Culture will honour 12 eminent personalities in the field of art and culture by conferring the ‘Goa State Cultural Award’ for their contribution and achievements in their respective art forms.
The recipients of ‘Goa State Cultural Award 2014-15’ are Avdhut Kamat; Ujwala Tarcar and Dr. Pradeep Borker (theatre-drama); Joe Rose and Rita Rose (theatre-tiatr); Dilip Borkar and Gurunath Naik (literature); Rajendra Singbal (music-Indian); Leopoldina Figueiredo (music-western); Radhakrishna Shetye and Shiva Tamankar (bhajan) and Maendra Alvares (fine art/craft).
The State government will also be honouring Goa Cultural and Social Centre, Panaji for the best cultural institution working in the field of art and culture.
