Team visits MP to get info on Jivabadada Kerkar

A delegation led by environmentalist Rajendra Kerkar visited Gwalior in MP to find history of Jivabadada Kerkar.

The delegation also visited a museum and a library to find out whether there is any information about Jivabadada.

Ex-police officer Narayan alias Nana Sopte Kerkar, D V Talwanekar, Vithoba Bagli, Chandrahas Dabholkar, Bhiva Parab, Bhavwarth Mandrekar, Vinod Mether, Nivrutti Shirodkar, Bharat Betkekar and Rangnath Naik were part of the delegation.

Jivabadada Kerkar was conferred the Bhaxi Bhaddar Mujafer Doil Jivaji Ballal Bhaddar Fattejang Kitab by Shinde, the ruler of Madhya Pradesh. Kerkar fought war in 1790 to 91 at Patna, etc.

As Goa government is giving its highest award in sports in the name of Jivabadada, Narayan Sopte Kerkar took initiative to gather information regarding Jivabadada Kerkar so it can be made available to the new generation.

“There are four books written on the life of Jivabadada, but there is not a single photo of him. The delegation will also visit Pune to find out more details regarding Jivabadada,” informed Rajendra Kerkar.
