VASCO: The MV Aida Aura luxury cruise liner arrived from Mangalore port and docked alongside the dedicated international cruise terminal at the Mormugao harbour on January 7, with 1,219 tourists and 400 crew members.

The vessel later sailed in the evening for Muscat-Oman on its onward voyage.

The tourists on disembarking at the Mormugao harbour were taken for a sightseeing trip in and around Goa by the tour operators Indian Travel Bureau and Leisure Venture.

The tourists while on land visited the heritage monuments at Old Goa, the capital city, other towns including Margao, Mapusa and beaches along the South Goa coast, as well as spice gardens and temples in and around Ponda.

Many tourists who love adventure were seen cycling independently in and around Mormugao. The luxury liner brought tourists from Germany, Austria, Switzerland and the Netherlands.

The port authorities extended all support and facilities to the ship Agents J M Baxi & Co, for smooth handling of the passenger liner and also extended facilities to family members of the Goan crew on board the ship. (TGN)
