Residents of Betiabhat-Ambaulim confronted Assistant Engineer of PWD roads at Quepem office on Thursday morning, to complain about the bad condition of roads between Ambaulim and Quepem.

The aggrieved residents claimed that the roads had been dug up to lay JICA pipelines and had been left unattended for several months.

On Thursday morning, about 15-20 locals from Betiabhat-Ambaulim and Quepem handed over a letter to the PWD assistant engineer, stating that the pot-holed roads had become dangerous to motorists and commuters.

When contacted, the assistant engineer said he had assured locals that the pending work would be completed in the first week of January 2016.

“I have been informed that the pending work from Quepem will be undertaken by JICA officials,” he said.
