Beat Mother of Mercy High School, Vasco by 43 runs to emerge victorious

Anjuman Himayatul Islam High School, Baina defeated Mother of Mercy High School, Vasco by 43 runs to emerge champs in the Mormugao Zone U-16 inter-school Dilip Sardesai cricket tournament organised by Goa Cricket Association (GCA) at MPT grounds, Vasco, on Monday.
In the finals, after winning the toss, Anjuman Himaytul were bundled out for 143 runs in 37 overs. Afaz Shaikh cracked 36 runs. He was well supported by Puneet Yadav who chipped in with 28 useful runs. For Mother of Mercy High School, Varad Gaonkar was the wrecker-in-chief scalping five wickets.
In reply, Mother of Mercy HS were bowled out for 100 in 30.5 overs. Varad Gaonkar who excelled with the ball scored 36 runs.For Anjuman Himaytul, Punnet was the most successful bowler, capturing three wickets.
In another match, Shantadurga High School, Bicholim beat Government High School, Keri by 9 wickets to enter the finals of Bicholim-Sanquelim Zone at Navelim grounds.
Batting first, Govt HS Keri were bowled out for 177 in 38 overs.Tushar Naik top scored with 48 runs. For Shantadurga, Shubhdeep Dey was the most sucessful bowler claiming 3 for 33. In reply Shantagurga HS achieved the target in style with nine
wickets in hand.

MARGAO: King’s High School, Sao Jose de Areal defeated Adarsh VV High School,Margao by 9 wickets in the U-14 President Trophy Salcete Zone cricket tournament organised by Goa Cricket Association at MCC grounds here on Monday.
Batting first, Adarsh VV HS’ innings collapsed for just a paltry total of 59 runs. King’s HS achieved the target with 9 wickets to spare.
