Ore transportation continued to remain paralysed on Thursday, after agitating truck owners decided to block ore transportation activity from Sanvordem-Tisk till their demand for a hike in transportation rate is implemented.
On Thursday morning, around 60-70 truck owners gathered at the Sanvordem-Tisk junction in the morning and decided not to allow any ore transportation.
A delegation of truck owners then visited Sanvordem Sarpanch Sanjay Naik and insisted that he should write a letter to a Mormugao-based company, involved in ore transportation business, to stop ore transportation along the route.
When contacted, Naik denied having written any such letter.
“At the most, I can send a representation of agitating truck owners to the company to resolve the issue,” said Naik.
A police team was present at the site to prevent any untoward incident.
