Shantesh Mapsekar and Sneha Mesta bagged the double crown in mini cadets, cadets boys and girls categories respectively at the 6th All Goa Major Ranking Table tennis tournament organised by Shree Mangirish Vidyadayini Samstha, in association with Wagle High School Golden Jubilee Celebration Committee, at Desai Pratishthan Hall, Mangeshi.
In the mini cadet boys category, Shantesh Mapsekar beat Aaron Colaco 11-6,11-7,11-6 to wrest the title. Mapsekar came back to scrape past Nagesh Verenkar 2-11, 11-8, 11-6, 6-11, 12-10 to complete the double in the cadets category while Senha Mesta beat Simran Kubal 11-9, 9-11,11-8,11-8 to pocket the girls mini cadets title. She defeated Sanisha Shetye 11-4, 11-4, 11-6 to take top honours in cadet category.
Meanwhile in the sub junior boys field, Ashley do Rosario justified his top billing as he whipped Varun Gangodkar to clinch the sub junior title while Tainisi Kirtani beat Prutha Parrikar 11-4, 11-4, 11-6 in the final.
Businessman Praveen Blagan was the chief guest and gave away the prizes in the presence of Audhut Kamat, vice chairman, Sudan Kunkoliennkar secretary, Mitasha Aigal, headmistress of Wagle High School, and Guirish Abhisheki. Earlier Sagar Sakordekar, tournament coordinator and secretary of Shree Mangirishi Vidyadayni Samstha welcomed the guests.
