CM, GSIDC chairman inspect Mormugao devevlopmental works

Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar along with Goa State Infrastructure Development Corporation (GSIDC) Chairman Dr Pramod Sawant and other GSIDC officials on Saturday visited Mormugao constituency to review the developmental works.

Parsekar held a closed-door meeting with Power Minister Milind Naik along with Sawant and other GSIDC officials to address the delay in ongoing development works in the constituency.

After emerging out of the meeting, Dr Samant told media persons that they had discussed the three major projects, the sewerage treatment plant at Baina, the construction of Sanjay school for special children and the development of the play ground at Bogda.

“The school is 75% complete, while around 35% of work at the ground is completed said Samant.”

“The work of the widening and strengthening of the road is delayed due to due to lack of funds and projects will be expedited and will be completed soon,” added Samant.

Parsekar also interacted with the media but did not elaborate much on ongoing and other developmental, other than stating: “For the last 55 years, Mormugao constituency has not seen any development.”

“During his tenure as minister, Power Minister Milind Naik has taken up development works, which includes the sewage treatment plant at Baina, construction of overhead water tanks, widening of road and development of the play ground,” said Parsekar.

When asked if there was enough funds to complete the works and if they would be completed before the next assembly election, Parsekar declined to comment but assured to expedite the works which have been delayed due to lack of funds.
