Top cops visit Vasco police station, inspect records

Senior police officials inspected the Vasco Police Station on Thursday, as part of efforts to decide on the three best police stations in the State.

Superintendent of Police (Crime) Kartik Kashyap, SP Anti-Corruption Bureau Vimal Gupta, SP Traffic Suman Goel and DySP Traffic Gajanan Prabhudesai visited Vasco Police Station and inspected the jail, records books, station diaries, offices of police sub inspectors, CID office, other offices and barracks.

According to Vasco PI Sagar Ekoskar, the Vasco Police Station is among the three short-listed police stations in South Goa.

“The visit by police officials on Thursday was to ascertain which police station would be among the top three in South Goa,” he said.

Speaking to The Goan, Anti-Corruption Bureau SP Vimal Gupta said the police stations of Vasco, Ponda and Curchorem are the three police stations short-listed from South Goa, while another three are short-listed from North Goa.

“Cleanliness, law and order, detection and disposal of cases and overall performance of the police stations will be taken into consideration before deciding which station ranks first, second and third in South Goa,” said SP Gupta.

“At Vasco, law and order is under control, while detection and disposal of cases is good,” SP Gupta said.

“Three police stations will be short-listed from North Goa and of the six police stations, and after through the inspection reports, the final three police stations will be declared as first, second and third best police stations of Goa,” informed Gupta.

Gupta further said the final three best police stations will be declared as first, second and third and awards will be given on December 19.
