CEC members P V Jayakrishnanan, a former Secretary MoEF andalso an ex-Chief Secretary of Goa, CEC Member Mahendra Vyas, an Advocate inSupreme Court representing NGOs, and Siddhartha Chaudhary, amicus curiae, havehit the Goan tarmac to meet the mining affected and furnish its report to theSupreme Court, based on the Shah Commission report.
Currently the former Environment Secretary and Forest CECChairman is holding closed door meetings with mines director Prasana Acharyaand Goa pollution board member secretary Levinson Martins, attending themeeting as Officer on Special Duty, Mines.
The CEC members will meet barge owners association membersheaded by Atul Jadhav, truckers association members including secretarySatyawan Narayan, mining equipment and stevedore association members besidesmine owners, GMOEA members through the evening in closed door meetings whichcould run through the night today. The CEC, along with State Chief Secretary,will visit the mines along the buffer zone on Monday, October 29.
Currently Jayakrishnan is in a meeting with Claude Alvares.
