PONDA: The annual National Service Scheme (NSS) camp of Shree Ameya Vidyaprasarak Mandal's Higher Secondary School, Curti-Ponda, was recently conducted at KRSS High School, Savoiverem-Ponda.

The seven-day residential camp was inaugurated by ZP member Mohan Verenkar. KRSS HS Headmistress Anita Singbal, Principal in-charge Flavia Colaco, Subhash Jan and others were present.

Speaking on the occasion, Verenkar, who is also a retired teacher, said such NSS camps will help students understand society in depth, as students are made to stay in villages of Goa.

“Life is not just in between the four walls of the school. The students should learn life skills which will help them to shape their future,” Verenkar said.

Principal Flavia Colaco welcomed the guests. Subhash Jan introduced the guests, NSS volunteer Aayesha Sheikh compered the function, while NSS programme officer Sandip Shilkar proposed the vote of thanks.

During the camp, school surroundings were cleaned along with awareness in the village to popularize Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. Some special personality development sessions were also organized for the benefit of the camping students and 100 students participated in the camp.
