On the evening of January 7, Goans had a rare opportunity of seeing a whole lot of prize-winning wind instrument players from different parts of Europe perform on an array of seldom heard instruments like the oboe, the basoon, French horns, etc as the fourth edition of the Indo German Music Confluence, organized by Opus Gala and The Indo German Educational and Cultural Society got underway at St. Augustine's Tower in Old Goa.

Most of these instruments are normally heard as part of an orchestra, but since the focus of this year's festival was to promote wind instruments, listeners got the opportunity to appreciate their beauty individually. Hopefully the young wind musicians’ performance will inspire members of the audience to start learning these instruments which have become a rarity in Goa and elsewhere in India.
