2-day Kumaon Literary Fest kick-starts today

The Kumaon Literary Festival (KLF) is kickstarting on May 14 at 10 am at the Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG) in the presence of the Governor of Goa, P S Sreedharan Pillai, Bibek Debroy, chairman, Economic Council to the Prime Minister of India, lawyer Sumant Batra, founder, Indian Cinema Heritage Foundation who is the curator of the festival. It is the first travelling literary festival in the country bringing together creative minds to offer insights on matters relevant to art, cinema and literature and highlighting aspects of art and culture.
The two-day festival will be held at the ESG on May 14 and 15 with some big names in the world of literature, music, and cinema attending it. The keynote address on 'Translating the Ancient Text: The Place of Mythology in the Popular Consciousness' will be by Dr Bibek Debroy, scholar, author, translator and chairman, Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister. Governor of Goa P S Sreedharan Pillai will also address the audience.
