Vidya Vikas Mandal’s Shree Damodar College of Commerce & Economics, Margao recently organized the second lecture of its Spotlight Series as a part of the Golden Jubilee celebrations of Vidya Vikas Mandal.
The speaker for the lecture was Dr Vidya Yeravdekar, Pro-Chancellor, Symbiosis International (Deemed University) and Principal Director, Symbiosis, Pune. Dr Yeravdekar spoke on the topic, “NEP 2020: Recognizing and Leveraging Opportunities”.
Dr Yeravdekar described the NEP 2020 as an exciting policy and that Dr Kasturi Rangan was the face of the strategy. She said that Goa is well qualified to reap the benefits of NEP and become an educational hub. The policy had evolved through consultations with all stakeholders- academia, the corporate world and even gram panchayats. In its evolution, the policy had gone through four Education ministers and took about four years to crystalise.
Vice-Chancellor of Symbiosis University Prof Dr Rajani Gupte, Registrar of Goa University Prof Dr Radhika Nayak, Principals and teachers of colleges in Goa, and management representatives of educational societies were present.
