Vasco police on Tuesday arrested a youth from West Bengal but residing at Zuarinagar on charges of possessing 1.2 kgs of ganja worth Rs 1.2 lakh.
According to police reports, a trap was laid and the accused, Prabir Bepari (27), was caught red handed with the drugs in a raid conducted in the presence of the mamlatdar. Police said the accused had gone to Chicalim to deliver the drugs to a prospective buyer. The accused has been arrested under the NDPS Act.
The raid was conducted by LPSI Pramila Fernandes and PSI Ritesh Tari is further investigating the case under the supervision of PI Nilesh Rane and guidance of Mormugao DySP Raju Raut Desai.
