PANAJI: On the occasion of World Theatre Day, Sunaparanta Goa Centre for the Arts in association with Abhivyaktee – Panaji will be putting up a theatre presentation Adimaya to be staged over two consecutive days March 27 and 28 at 7 pm at Sunaparanta, Panaji.
Inspired by the current debate surrounding the Mhadei river, the play Adimaya invites a contemplation on the cultural aspects of this water body.
This performance presents selected monologues from various plays of different periods where women act as central figures, while also inquiring into the relationship between the characters and the river’s symbolic and mystical nature.
The main character of Adimaya is played by Prashanti Talpankar. Similarly Raghuvir Govekar, Anuja Purohit, Yashila Lobo, Laxmi Mahatme-Satordekar, Genevieve Rodrigues, Sobita Kudtarkar, Gauri Kamat, Prerna Palekar, Dr Ramita Gurav and Raghuvir Govekar have played various characters.
