Come November 1, biometric attendance will be compulsory for govt babus

From November 1, the babus will have no excuse of Covid pandemic for irregular attendance. The government servants have to register their attendance on biometric attendance machines as the government has decided to resume the system after it was closed for almost 5 months due to Covid pandemic surge.

The general administration department on October 29 has issued a circular announcing that the government has decided to resume the biometric attendance system for government servants.

It is announced that from November 1, the government servants have to register biometric attendance with the usage of sanitiser and maintaining social distancing norms.

Due to the Covid pandemic, the biometric attendance system was stopped from March 2020.

Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has already said that government servants are failing to report for duty stating the reason due to Covid.

The Chief Minister has warned of action against the government servants who do not report to offices on time. He has also informed the secretaries and Ministers to visit offices and see the working of the departments.
