The Fatorda police made its presence felt at the Gogol housing board as a precautionary measure in view of Eid festival on Tuesday.The police presence comes a day after members of the Temple committee raised its objection to the erection of an arc near the temple. After the matter was reported to the police, Fatorda police station incharge PI Kapil Nayak had got in touch with the local Masjid committee and ensured that the arc is shifted away from the temple. A temple trustee Anil Naik, who is the Vishwa Hindu Parishad district president, questioned why the arc had to be erected close to the temple. 'We had no objection to the arc, but our objection was over its erection close to the temple. Hope such incidents are not repeated next year', he added. PI Kapil said the Fatorda police made its presence felt at the housing board as a precautionary measure.
