Art and Culture Minister Govind Gaude has lauded Pernem journalist Nivrutti Shirodkar for documenting the lives of Goan artistes. Gaude was addressing a gathering after releasing a book 'Natyashri Pedne' written by Shirodkar at a function organised by Morjim Kala Niketan, Morjim, Sarvajanik Ganeshostav Vishwast Mandal and Goa Marathi Akademi in the Kalasdev temple hall at Morjim. Others present on the occasion included Deputy Chief Minister Babu Ajgaonkar, Mandrem MLA Dayanand Sopte and others.
"Nivrutti Shirodkar has done a good job of documenting lives of many artistes. The Art and Culture Department will always support him for contributing towards the preservation of local culture," said Gaude. Ajgaonkar, Sopte and Goa Marathi Akademi President Prof Anil Samant also spoke at the event. Others present included Morjim ZP member Satish Shetgaonkar, Morjim Sarpanch Vaishali Shetgaonkar, actress Aboli Pednekar, Deputy Sarpanch Amit Shetgaonkar, Morjim Sarvajanik Ganeshostav Vishwast Mandal President Vishwanath Ajgaonkar, Suchita Shirodkar and Manasi Shirodkar. Nivrutti Shirodkar expressed his gratitude for all the support rendered to him.
