Twenty-five children of St Thomas Parish, Aldona received the Sacrament of First Holy Communion on January 17, 2021. The theme for the Eucharistic celebration was “Receiving Jesus in our hearts, we become His witnesses”.
The main celebrant for the celebration was the Parish priest, Fr Tomas Lobo. In his homily, he exhorted the recipients of the First Holy Communion to experience the closeness of Jesus in their hearts and to grow in His friendship each day. He also said to become witnesses of God, they should do good deeds, reach out to the poor and care for the creation. The Con-celebrant for the mass was Fr Benedict Gomes OFM. The choir ‘Sweet voices of St Thomas Church ‘comprising of the catechism children gave their sweet rendition through their voices in harmony.
The Eucharistic celebration was followed by the cutting of the First Holy Communion cake and presentation of certificates and tokens to the children.
