MARGAO
Chief Minister Pramod Sawant kept his promise of dispatching Covid home isolation kits to health centres, which began on Sunday.

However, the stock dispatched to the Health centres failed to meet the huge requirements, especially in Margao, where the cases have been rising steadily with each passing day.

If the government had sent 100 home isolation kits on Sunday, which got exhausted within hours, the 200 kits dispatched to the Margao Urban Health Centre on Monday could not cover all those who had turned up at the centre with Covid positive documents. While 200 kits were sent to the Margao PHC, the total number of new Covid cases in Margao was put at 304.

Officials pointed out that with the oximeters running in short supply at the private medical stores and pharmacies, people come to the health centre with the hope of collecting the home isolation kit, comprising of medicines and an oximeter.
