The Goa government on Thursday told the Bombay High Court at Goa that “nothing survives” in the petitions related to the Covid management in the State as most of the issues related to the matter have been substantially redressed.

The High Court at Goa had taken up a bunch of petitions concerning the Covid management in the State especially that of oxygen availability, the availability of beds, crucial drugs and other connected issues.

“My submission is that nothing survives in these petitions,” Advocate General Devidas Pangam told the court.

The High Court bench led by Justice M S Sonak nonetheless asked the petitioners and the State government to come together and submit a chart of the issues that remain pending before the court while posting the matter for hearing on Monday.

The High Court has over the last few weeks issued a series of directions to the State government concerning Covid management in the State the most striking being the directives to ensure that no persons enter the State without a Covid negative test as well as to ensure that there were no Covid deaths on account of disruptions in the oxygen supply.

On account of pressure from the High Court, the Government was forced to move quickly and install a Liquid Medical Oxygen tank at the GMC which until then was relying on a system of oxygen cylinder trolleys that resulted in dropping levels every time the trolley was changed.
