Man nabbed at Delhi in Betim Gurudwara burglary

Porvorim police arrested a person from Delhi in connection with a burglary at the Shri Guru Gobind Singh Sabha Gurudwara in Betim last week.  

According to Porvorim Police Inspector Anant Gaonkar, a complaint was lodged by the President of Gurudwara on January 18 stating that unknown persons had entered the Darbar hall of the Gurudwara, broke open the donation box and stole cash of about Rs 4.5 lakh. An FIR under Sections 457, 380 of IPC was registered.  

Based on the complaint, police analysed CCTV cameras for almost three days and had formed various teams to nab the culprit. After further analysis and technical surveillance, two unknown accused persons were identified and one of the accused persons was found to be from West Delhi.  

A Porvorim police team immediately proceeded to Delhi and also shared the location and information of the accused with their police counterparts in Delhi. The accused was nabbed and brought to Goa after all legal formalities.  

The accused has been identified as Jaspreet Singh (35) of Chand Nagar, West Delhi. The second accused is also identified and efforts are on to trace the second accused.  

The entire investigation was carried out under the supervision of SP North Nidhin Valsan, SDPO Vishwesh Karpe and PI Anant Gaonkar. The investigation team consisted of PSI Sitaram Malik, LPSI Pranita Mandrekar, Constables Nitesh Gaude, Varish Cuncolkar, Yogesh Shinde, Anand Kandurgi and Nitesh Parab.
