Two Indian celebrity choreographers, Remo D’Souza and Salman Yusuff Khan, will soon have to face the music from the Goa Police after they were issued summons for traffic violation.

Goa Traffic Police on Thursday identified and impounded the two Harley Davidson motorcycles that were rented by D’Souza and Khan. “We have identified both the individuals who were riding the bikes. Both have been called to the police station. We have already seized the bikes they were riding,” said Dinraj Govekar, Superintendent of Police (Traffic).

Both the choreographers recently posted separate videos of them riding Harley Davidson motorcycles on the Atal Setu across River Mandovi, which is closed for two-wheeler traffic. Another celebrity dancer, Shakti Mohan, is seen riding as a pillion with Khan. While Khan titled his video as “The rains and the ride...#goa is amazing isn’t it @mohanshakti”, D’Souza simply added “#bikelife #harleydavidson” to his post. Both these videos have since been taken down.

Though the incidents allegedly occurred around September 25, the matter came to light only after videos posted by the duo on Instagram resulted in an outrage on Twitter. With the official handles of Director General of Goa Police and the Chief Minister being tagged in hundreds of angry tweets, the authorities were forced to take immediate action.

“Thanks #Goa for bringing traffic violations to notice. Recently two bikers were seen riding on Atal Setu which is closed to 2 wheelers. SP Traffic Dinraj Govekar took cognisance and not only identified and impounded the bikes but has summoned riders for legal action. #goapolice,” reads the tweet posted from DGP’s official Twitter handle.

Meanwhile, Calangute traffic cops have issued a challan to the bike owners for renting their bikes without a valid permit and both the bikes have been impounded. According to sources, one Carmino Domnic Lobo, owner of a Harley Davidson Roadster XL 1200CX and one Sarvesh Kanekar, owner of a Harley Davidson Sportster XL 100X, have been taken to task under the Motor Vehicle Act for renting the bikes without a valid permit.

Remo D’Souza is a leading dancer and choreographer who shot to fame by judging TV dance reality show ‘Dance India Dance’ while Salman Yusuff Khan is a former winner of the ‘Dance India Dance’ show besides participating in other TV shows.
