In a swift move kept under wraps, the BJP inducted five persons, including a Congressman, into the party late Friday evening.
All five will be gifted with candidature for the civic elections on the BJP panel in the ensuing council polls in Mapusa.
State BJP President Sadanand Tanavade inducted Vrunda Mishal, Laxmi Natekar, Shriya Salgaonakar, Chetan Korgaonkar and Depak Mhadeshri into the BJP.
BJP organizing secretary Satish Dhond, former chief minister and observer for Mapusa civic elections Laxmikant Parsekar, Mapusa MLA Joshua D’Souza and former Panaji MLA Siddharth Kunkoliencar were present during the induction in the Mapusa BJP office.
Vrunda Mishal will be the candidate in Ward 6, Laxmi Natekar in Ward 10, Shriya Salgaonakar in Ward 13, Chetan Korgaonkar in Ward 11 reserved for SC and Depak Mhadeshri in Ward 20.
