Man nabbed in Bihar on charges of wife’s murder

After a massive month-long manhunt, Canacona police finally nabbed a man in Bihar on charges of murdering his wife at Gulem, Canacona.
Ajay alias Gulzaria Malli (45), a native of Khagaria district in Bihar but residing opposite the Margao Railway Station, was nabbed by a police team from Canacona after camping for 20 days in Bihar.
The decomposed body of Savita Malli had been found behind the forest office near a government primary school at Gulem, Canacona in a suspicious manner on April 19.
After an autopsy, Canacona police had registered a case of murder and suspected the involvement of the husband, after he had allegedly suspected Savita of an extra-marital affair.
Canacona Police had alerted border security agencies and launched a search operation at railway stations, slums, bus stands and construction sites in the State.
A police team then proceeded to Bihar after learning that the accused had fled from the State.
The police team reached Khagaria district in Bihar and conducted operations at different places in the district for over 20 days.
Police finally nabbed Malli in Khagaria with the help of the local police.
According to SP (South) Abhishek Dhania, the accused is being brought to Goa by a Canacona police team after completing legal formalities at Khagaria district, Bihar.
The DGP Goa has declared that the police team involved in nabbing the accused would be suitably rewarded.
