South Goa MP Francisco Sardinha has said Chief Minister Pramod Sawant should ensure that DGP Mukesh Kumar Meena should either follow rules of conduct or step down and pave the way for the top officer to take over the reins of government.
“If the Chief Minister cannot control the DGP, he should step down and make the latter the CM. Let the DGP contest an election next time. The DGP should mind his business and not meddle in the affairs that are outside his jurisdiction,” he added.
Promising to raise the issue in Parliament in the coming session, Sardinha said the DGP should instead try to stop drug trafficking and resolve crimes such as thefts and robberies in the State.
