The internationally popular destination for the tourists, the tiny State of Goa will now boast of having its first by-the-seat helicopter services for domestic as well as foreign tourists.

Launching the first by-the-seat helicopter services at Aguada, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant welcomed the initiative of Blade Aviation that has started this service.

Lauding the efforts of Blade for contributing to tourism as well as to attend to medical emergencies, it’s a step forward in infrastructural development of the State, Chief Minister who enjoyed the ride that allowed him a bird’s eye view of Goa from the sky said.

Stating that at present many places are not explored in Goa and that the tourists would like to explore our hinterlands, Sawant said, “from the government’s side we are welcoming this decision of Blade Aviation to start helicopter services which will increase connectivity between North and South Goa reducing the current time of two hours to only 15 minutes.”

Pointing out that such a helicopter service will not only boost tourist footfalls, CM stated that it will also prove to be of great help in medical emergencies too. “It will also help people in connectivity. The aviation services could be utilised in future to go to the nearby cities like Kolhapur or Belagavi, by taking the aviation permission,” said Sawant.

Explaining the need to have safe, efficient and fast mobility, Sunny Guglani, strategic partner to Blade Aviation stated that they are tackling this issue by offering helicopter services. Pointing out that ours is a beautiful country with so much geographical diversity, Guglani lamented that we have less than 2% share of the world’s international arrivals.

“It’s a question we need to think about as a country why despite having all flora and fauna and rich heritage, we are not able to capture more tourists. The real beauty of India lies in Bharat, the interiors, which are hard to reach. So, we need solutions based on helicopters which can connect potential tourists and also Indians, to each other,” stated Guglani.

Announcing that Blade is here to connect to real Bharat to each other and to create opportunities for the people, Guglani said, “If I look at Goa we have beautiful beaches, inland areas, hinterlands, wildlife parks, forts, waterfalls and helicopters can play a pivotal role in unlocking the true potential of the State of Goa, when it comes to tourism.”
