‘Discreet escort’ websites expose Goa’s murky side

Websites openly marketing “discreet escorts” and “call girls in Goa” have still been operating unhindered online, creating another major challenge for the State as they promote services that lie in a legal grey area.

One of these portals, named under poonamaggarwal, is among a mushrooming network of similar sites that have quietly built an industry around Goa’s booming visitor traffic, selling sexual services under the vocabulary of hospitality, nightlife and premium travel. So also, named under pibilo, named under Escortgram, named under Streetgirls69, named under Aneet Panday and named under Empire Escort are among a long list of such sites openly advertising companions.

All this despite the Cyber Crime Cell, in the past, claiming to have blocked 78 websites running escort services.

The first portal’s homepage reads like a catalogue of luxury experiences wherein the product on offer is human -- women. The platform has steered deliberately clear of explicit illegality, yet the intent is unmissable as women are presented as “high-profile models,” “professional companions,” and round-the-clock “verified call girls” available across Goa’s most frequented tourism hubs.

“Find verified call girls across top locations in Goa including Panaji, Calangute, Baga, Anjuna, Mapusa, Candolim, Margao, Vasco da Gama, Arambol, and Palolem… explore genuine profiles… available for fast, discreet bookings via WhatsApp or phone… thank you for choosing Goa’s leading call girl service to fulfill your desires with privacy and care,” the website states, framing sexual commerce as a curated, consumer-friendly amenity.

While the tone seems clinical, deliberate, and polished, the destinations such as beaches, casinos, five-star hotels and private villas are paired with suggested services. The site has been advertising women “across every prime location of Goa,” using the language of ease, access and travel-grade efficiency.

“Timely arrival of call girl in Goa; discreet entrance and exit (hotel or villa); location-specific attire and behaviour as per your preference; flexible travel arrangements to remote or private locations,” reads one section that lays out its promise with the precision of a logistics manual.

Another section assures customers that round-the-clock call girl services are available, including late-night bookings and urgent requests, with assignments for parties, events or private travel offered on demand.

Women are arranged in hierarchical categories based on nationality, appearance and perceived “class” while also rates are framed as “packages” and “bookings,” slotted into tariff-like brackets that mimic the hotel reservation systems.

One of these portals listed categories of these 'call girls' along with price slabs and have categorised as 'Short' and 'Full Time' services. For local call girls, the price is set at Rs 7,000 and Rs 11,000 respectively while Russians are priced at 11,000 and Rs 16,000, housewife at Rs 11,000 and Rs 18,000, celebrity at Rs 20,000 and Rs 40,000, airhostess at Rs 19,000 and Rs 38,000, 'desi' at Rs 9,000 and Rs 17,000, and elite at Rs 20,000 and Rs 35,000.

“You can mention your preferences during the booking, and we’ll do our best to match you with a suitable companion… Let us know your needs, and we’ll arrange the perfect match,” it states.

Another website, named under ‘priyakangura’ goes further, offering its services as a premium offering through claims like, “We at The Goa Girls offer the best escort service in Goa to numerous clients seeking pretty and sophisticated call girls at affordable rates. Our girls are trained and professional and have full-fledged knowledge of the industry.”

Women activist Sabina Martins slammed that the tourism industry continues to rest on “exploitation of women, people, natural resources and the commercialisation of culture,” arguing that nearly every aspect of the sector has been monetised in ways that erode dignity and degrade the State.

“Tourism, in its current form, is very exploitative and runs parallel to crime, drugs, alcohol and prostitution that leads to trafficking networks while the cost is borne by locals,” she said adding that although complaints have been lodged over the years, cases of women being trapped in sex work are still prevalent.

ARZ Director Arun Pandey has consistently raised concerns and submitted detailed reports analysing trafficking patterns, including the online-to-offline networks now operating in Goa.

Martins also cited recent cases wherein young girls enrolled in beauty parlour courses were coerced into performing “body-to-body massage.”
