BJP former MLA from Canacona and present Goa State SC/ST Commission chairman Ramesh Tawadkar on Thursday said that the accusation of assault levelled by a person from ST community against him are politically motivated with a conspiracy to tarnish his image and he will challenge the decision given by Judicial Magistrate of First Class (JMFC) court.
Addressing a press conference at Youth Hostel Miramar, Tawadkar denied the allegations against him and said: “I haven’t even touched the person who has accused me in this crime, moreover, this case is a politically motivated conspiracy to ruin my image.”
It may be recalled that in a case of assault the JMFC has asked Tawadkar to pay compensation and sit in court till court proceedings end.
While commenting on the issue Tawadkar said that he has no motive to assault a common man who belongs to his ST community.
Tawadkar said that he is confident that the higher court will acquit him like the earlier four politically motivated cases against him from which he is already acquitted.
