Chairman of Bardez Bazaar Consumer Cooperative Society, Dharma Chodankar was voted out in a no-confidence motion on Monday.
Chodankar was ousted from his post by a margin of 9-4 votes.
A special meeting was held to decide on the no-trust motion in the presence of a representative of the Registrar of Co-operative Society.
One director could not attend the meeting due to ill-health. Bardez Bazaar has 14 directors in all.
According to the majority of the directors, they were forced to move the no-confidence motion since Chodankar has been functioning in a dictatorial manner and failed to take them into confidence in decision-making.
Dharma Chodankar was a former MLA who was elected from the Cumbarjua constituency.
