Goa Congress on Wednesday alleged that a former partner of the NDA, the Goa Forward Party, is still working in alliance with the BJP.

Congress leader Trajano D’Mello said that one ought to read between the lines of the statement of the working president of GFP Kiran Kandolkar.

“During his visit to the striking Drishti workers, he has suggested to their senior partner in the NDA to replace Babu Ajgaonkar with Michael Lobo as Tourism Minister. Today, it is well known that the BJP is facing the heat on all fronts, be it coal transportation, mining, Mhadei, double-tracking or bankruptcy. The suggestion of GFP to streamline administration is a clear example of how the NDA partners come together to help each other to face the heat,” said D’Mello.

He further said that the GFP should stop fooling the people of Goa by saying that “all like-minded parties should come together”. “It's clear that the coming elections in Goa will be fought by the present NDA partners in alliance or with an understanding to disturb the Congress. Such understanding will not work as the people do not trust the GFP,” D’Mello predicted.
