Goa BJP leaders hail NDA sweep in Bihar, credit PM Modi's development agenda

PANAJI: Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant led celebrations in the state as early trends from the Bihar Assembly elections showed the NDA crossing the 200-seat mark. Calling it a “historic mandate,” Sawant said the results reflected the people’s overwhelming trust in Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.

“Bihar’s verdict shows the people’s trust in Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Nitish Kumar’s push for development and good governance,” he said at the BJP’s South Goa office today, where party workers gathered in large numbers. “I heartily congratulate Modiji, our senior leadership, and Nitish Kumarji. I express gratitude to the people of Bihar because they gave a clear majority, a clean sweep victory, to the NDA.”

Sawant said the mandate reaffirmed that elections today are being fought on development, not caste or religion. “The Double Engine Sarkar always contests on the foundation of sustained development. The people of Bihar have witnessed the scale of infrastructure and human resource development carried out under PM Modi over the last ten years,” he said. “This result again validates the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047 and shows that Bihar wants development, not Jungle Raj or Gunda Raj.”

The Chief Minister added that Goa too continues to place its faith in Modi’s leadership. “The people of Goa prefer the Double-Engine government. Goa has consistently stood with the BJP, and I am confident this support will continue in the upcoming Zilla Panchayat and municipality elections,” he said.

PWD Minister Digambar Kamat said the Mahagathbandhan’s hopes had been decisively rejected. “When the result is understood, even Tejashwi Yadav himself knows that this outcome is merely a dream. What was imagined as a path to becoming Chief Minister has turned into a losing situation,” he said. Kamat added that Bihar had shown “historic confidence” in Prime Minister Modi.

BJP spokesperson and Vasco MLA Krishna Salkar said Bihar had once again demonstrated the nation’s trust in Modi’s leadership. “The trust the people of Bihar have shown in the BJP and the Prime Minister is establishing Ram Rajya across state after state,” he said. “In every election, we are sweeping with a decisive majority; this shows the mood of the country today.”
