The first six months of 2025 saw Goa attracting a total of 54.55 lakh tourists between January and June, including 2.71 lakh international visitors.

According to the data from the tourism department, January recorded the highest footfall, with 10.56 lakh tourists, including 9.86 lakh domestic and nearly 70,000 foreign visitors. February followed with 9.05 lakh arrivals, comprising 8.44 lakh Indian and over 61,000 international tourists.

In March, the State hosted 8.89 lakh visitors, with around 56,000 coming from overseas. Tourism remained resilient all through summer. In April, Goa received 8.42 lakh visitors, including 8.14 lakh domestic and 28,000 international tourists. May brought in 9.27 lakh, with nearly 30,000 foreigners among them, while June saw 8.34 lakh total arrivals.

The Department said that the international travellers included those from Europe, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia. There was growth reported among solo travellers, families, free of itinerary travellers (FITs), and organised group tours.

Director Tourism Kedar Naik said that the boom is the result of a multi-pronged approach adopted by the State. “We have intensified promotional campaigns in key source markets, both domestic and global, participated in leading travel trade exhibitions, and launched innovative marketing initiatives under the ‘Regenerative Tourism’ umbrella,” he said.

Naik added that the efforts enhanced Goa's appeal not just as a beach destination, but one that offers a diverse array of experiences.

In the entire year 2023, the State had received 81,75,460 domestic tourists and 4,52,702 international tourists, totalling 86,28,162 visitors. Whereas in the year 2024, Goa welcomed 99,41,285 domestic tourists and around 4,67,911 international tourists, bringing the total to 1,04,09,196 visitors.
