Saligao MLA Jayesh Salgaonkar took a jibe at Waste Management Minister Michael Lobo stating that just uttering a word about the dilapidated roads in his Calangute constituency makes the minister point fingers at the roads from Saligao constituency.
MLA Salgaonkar said that Minister Lobo is adopting a policy 'if you cannot convice then confuse'. Salgaonkar said that Lobo should focus on the dilapidated roads in his constituency instead of pointing fingers at Saligao.
Salgaonkar said that after Lobo failed to answer the question a reporter asked him about the condition of roads in Calangute, he just diverted the question and spoke about the bad conditions of roads in Saligao costituency.
Talking about his consistent follow up with the government about road repairs, Salgaonkar said that the tender of Chogm road broadening and repair which was put up under coastal circuit development was rejected and also another proposal with PWD was not approved.
"These proposals were rejected as government did not want me to get the credit for road repairs." Salgaonkar said that he has worked for the development of his constituency stating that due to his efforts 60 amps excess power with extended underground cable from Porvorim was brought to Saligao.
