Anjuna Police have registered a case against two residents of Siolim for allegedly trespassing onto a private property with a mobile crane, illegally towing a vehicle and causing extensive damage, besides stealing cash kept inside the car.
The offence was registered on November 13 based on a complaint filed by Captain Brian Fernandes, a resident of Avida De Oxel, Arrady, Oxel.
According to the complaint, on October 24 around 1 pm, the accused – Tyris Machado and Tomas Machado, both residents of Arrady, Oxel, Siolim – allegedly entered Fernandes’ property without permission and used a mobile crane to tow away his Mahindra XUV500 (MH-04-GJ-2197), which was parked within the premises.
The vehicle was later found abandoned on the main road in a damaged condition, causing an estimated loss of Rs 2.8 lakh, the complaint stated. The accused also allegedly stole Rs 27,843 in cash kept in the glove box of the car.
Anjuna Police have registered the case under Sections 329(3), 324(5), and 303(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) 2023. The investigation is being conducted by PSI Ramesh Harijan of Anjuna Police Station.
Police issued notices under Section 35(3) of the BNSS to both accused on November 14. Further investigation is underway.
