Computerize all mutations, partitions records for RTI

RAJESH BANAULIKAR, Arpora | DECEMBER 01, 2022, 09:07 PM IST

Sometimes it's not easy to trace applied information under RTI in respect of old mutations and partition files in Mamlatdars and  Deputy collectors offices or any other offices. As the manual public records become older and older, those become either tearable or untraceable. Therefore  the computerization of every public record by government is need of the hour. When I applied for some partition information under RTI Act, I got a reply that files were not traceable, and will be inform when traced. Government must deliberately simplify the RTI Act to provide required information to public when required. We are living in digital India. So every public document must be digitalized from the inception of procedure, likewise from inwarding to disposal of partitions and mutations cases. Not only that, even old cases should be computerized to avail on RTI requests by the public.

Some  partitions information  was asked in the wake of name of person deleted from other rights  column of survey records. Respect RTI Act as evidence of justice.
