ADELMO FERNANDES, Vasco | MARCH 03, 2021, 12:16 AM IST

The Indian Super League (ISL) is reaching its crescendo and FC Goa has made it to the play-offs. It has qualified for the semifinals and has a better unbeaten record than the other three teams in the semifinals. The Goan team will cross swords with Mumbai FC in the first of the semifinals on March 5. If the performance of FC Goa has been impressive in the ISL another Goan team that has been giving a superlative performance is the Churchill Brothers FC in the I-League. The team has consolidated its position at the top of the league with 22 points following 3-2 win over Gokulam Kerala on Monday. The Red Machine has recorded six wins and four draws and extended its unbeaten record to ten matches. Churchill Brothers FC, the only Goan team in the I-League, will be looking forward to carrying on with its good performance in the second round. The club has won the I-League title twice and has secured a position among the top three teams on eight other occasions in the national league. Both FC Goa and Churchill Brothers FC are on a new high and their performance in the ISL and I-League respectively has been heart-warming for the football-crazy Goan fans. It is the hope of every die-hard Goan football fan that FC Goa will go all the way and win the finals of the ISL and Churchill Brothers FC will be crowned the champions of the I-League.
