8 months on, but the long wait for Cabinet berths continues

It would be eight months on Sunday since the eight Congress turncoats quit the party to embrace the saffron brigade, but the wait for the Ministerial rewards continues. Reports that CM Pramodbab Sawant would reward the turncoats with Cabinet berths before the Karnataka polls have failed to take place for reasons unknown. With counting of the votes in the Karnataka election scheduled during the weekend, wait and watch whether the induction of the heavyweights, especially the Saxtti duo of Aleixo-Diggu will take place after the Karnataka election result. One question, however, remains unanswered – what if the Exit polls giving Congress the edge comes true when the ballots are opened for counting.

Goa Congress pins hope on K’taka victory to lift morale

Goa Congress leaders pin all hopes on the Karnataka election result to bring about a turnaround in the party fortunes and lift the sagging morale of the party rank and file in particular and people in general. For, most of the leaders in private say that a clear mandate from the people of Karnataka for the party as anticipated by party leaders in the neighbouring state, will come as a welcome development for the Goa Congress, which has been literally struggling to put its act together, post defeat in the 2022 Assembly polls and the setback suffered by the party after the defection by the eight MLAs. Any questions?

Manipur violence gives detractors advantage to put Churchill on mat

Post-Manipur violence, Varca strongman Churchillbab may have to scout for a valid and convincing reason why he would support or even embrace the BJP in the run up to the 2024 Lok Sabha polls. For, Churchillbab’s stand that he was impressed with Prime Minister Narendra Modi for ushering peace in the country since 2014 seemed to have backfired after the raging fires and violence in Manipur left many Churches vandalised and destroyed. Indeed the Manipur violence has come in handy for detractors to put Churchillbab on the mat in Saxttidom and outside.

All eyes on Luizinho’s next destination

Has ex-Rajya Sabha MP Luizinhbab Faleiro quit from the Trinamool Congress party? This question assumes significance since it’s exactly a month now that the former Goa Chief Minister had quit the Rajya Sabha seat on April 11 last. The question assumes further significance and it comes against the backdrop of questions being raised in the State countryside over Luizinhbab’s next destination. Pose the question to Luizinhbab and don’t be surprised to hear a reply that he had already signed the resignation letter and is in the process of being sent to the TMC supremo. Wait and watch.

After football camp, what’s next on Warren’s agenda

What’s next on Warren Alemao’s agenda as curtains come down on his football camp, is a question doing the rounds around Benaulim countryside. For, the nephew of Varca strongman Bab Churchill has been under social media scanner for some time now, for the soccer camp and other works in the constituency. Churchillbab’s announcement to field son Savio in Benaulim in the next Assembly election seemed to have not dampened Warren’s spirit as he went about the football camp as per schedule. Wait and watch.
