Leader of Opposition Digambarbab Kamat seems to be convinced that an alliance with like-minded parties can checkmate the saffron brigade in the coming civic polls for the Margao municipal body. Diggu and Vijaibab had jointly fought the 2015 civic battle with both fielding candidates in their respective areas of Margao and Fatorda. And the tie-up had brought rich dividends for both. Diggu is aware that any move to field Congress candidate in Fatorda will invite a tit-for-tat response from Vijaibab in Margao. Diggu has not ruled out an alliance in the civic polls, but the question that remains unanswered is with whom. Wait and watch.
