Many an eyebrow was raised in political circles when footballer-turned-politician, former Navelim MLA Avertanbab Furtado, walked into Luizinhbab Faleiro’s residence on Thursday. Sources said Avertanbab went into a huddle with the Navelim MLA for some time and the duo is believed to have discussed the prevailing political scenario. Avertanbab maintained it was just a courtesy call, but observers say the meeting assumes significance against the backdrop of reports of TMC’s entry in the state. Avertanbab seems to be playing his cards close to his chest, keeping all options open.
