Dempo SC goalkeeper Dylan D’Silva has moved to Indian Super League (ISL) side Odisha FC during the January transfer window, the Golden Eagles announced on Wednesday.

The promising player is undergoing the mandatory quarantine period after joining the ISL team, Dempo said. The former I-League champions did not reveal the details of the transfer.

Dylan had some outstanding performances in the Dempo goal during the current Goa Pro League. He impressed the Odisha FC talent scouts and they requested for an immediate release by Dempo, the Golden Eagles said in a media release. Dempo president Shrinivas Dempo deliberated over the release of the goalkeeper with team coach Samir Naik before agreeing to a deal. “Although Dylan was very important for our team in our quest for the Goa Pro League title, we agreed to release him as playing in the ISL will be a big step to enhance the career of this young and promising Goan player. I and all of us at Dempo Sports Club wish him all the very best,” Dempo said.

Dylan comes from a family that has produced outstanding goalkeepers. His father, Sarmento, played for Maharashtra while his uncle, Teotonio, played for Dempo before joining Central Bank, Mumbai.
