SAG’s senior chess coach Kavlekar presented Noble World Record certificate

Sanjay Kavlekar, Senior Chess Coach, Sports Authority of Goa  (SAG) created a world record when he became “First International Chess Arbiter in Visually Impaired”. He was awarded International Arbiter title in January 2020 by FIDE (World Chess Body) President Arkady Dvorkovich.

On Wednesday at Chief Minister’s office,  Chief Minister Pramod Sawant in the presence of Power Minister Nilesh Cabral honoured Sanjay Kavlekar and presented the Noble World Record Certificate.

Sawant appreciated Sanjay Kavlekar for his efforts and hard work to be a Noble World Record Holder and congratulated him for his future endeavours.

Sanjay Kavlekar is the first International Arbiter in Visually Impaired and his name is registered in “Noble Book of World Records”, Record No. NWR/1043/2020. He is the only visually impaired person in the world to become an International Arbiter.

Sanjay Kavlekar joined SAG in the year 2001 as a chess coach. He went on to become a National Arbiter in the year 2004. He was awarded FIDE Arbiter title in the year 2018 and has now achieved International Arbiter Title in the year 2020.

Sanjay Kavlekar thanked Goa Chess Association President Nilesh Cabral, Secretary Kishor Bandekar and entire GCA Executive Committee for sending Nomination to Noble Book of World Records.
