Ishaan Colaso, Shaurya Dessai, Ruhaan Shaikh, Aarna Lotlikar, Chandan Caro and Ishita Colaso emerged champions at the MCC All Goa Major Ranking Table Tennis Tournament 2025, organised by Margao Cricket Club in aegis with the Goa Table Tennis Association, at the Multipurpose Stadium, Fatorda.
The finals produced high-octane rallies, nail-biting finishes and plenty of drama as Goa’s brightest young paddlers showcased their skill and grit on the big stage.
In the U11 Boys final, top seed Ishaan edged out second seed Ashaank Dalvi 3-2 after a see-saw battle (8-11, 11-5, 11-7, 10-12, 11-9), holding his nerve in the decider to clinch the crown. In contrast, the U11 Girls title clash was one-sided, as second seed Shaurya dominated top seed Anaya Shukla 3-0 (11-9, 11-4, 11-6) with aggressive forehand play, marking her maiden title victory of the season. The U13 Boys final saw top seed Ruhaan withstand a spirited challenge from third seed Yug Prabhu, winning 3-1 (11-7, 4-11, 11-7, 12-10) in a contest marked by sharp counters and controlled aggression. The U13 Girls produced the thriller of the day, where second seed Aarna prevailed over third seed Tisha Shaikh in a pulsating five-setter 3-2 (11-9, 17-15, 6-11, 5-11, 11-8), after both traded games with relentless attacking strokes.
The U17 category finals carried equal intensity. Top seed Chandan defeated second seed Rishan Shaikh 3-1 (11-9, 11-4, 10-12, 11-8), mixing deft touch play with powerful winners to seal the U17 Boys title. In the Girls U17, top seed Ishita showed her resilience in a five-set battle against second seed Neeza Kamat, eventually triumphing 3-2 (6-11, 11-8, 11-9, 8-11, 11-5) in a match that swung on every point.
