PANAJI: Top seed Michael Mare, alongside Pratik Naik Borkar, Samarth Sakhalkar, and Vishwa Parab, entered the Boys U13 Singles semifinals, while in the Girls U13 Singles, it will be Avni Khyalia, Pragya Audi, Komal Kothari, and Amaira Dhumatker who battle it out for a spot in the final at the State Badminton Ranking Tournament 2025, underway at the Indoor Stadium, Campal, Panaji.
The tournament has been organized by Sunlite Sports and Cultural Club under the aegis of the Goa Badminton Association and supported by the Sports Authority of Goa.
In the quarterfinals of the Boys U13 category, top seed Michael Ryan Mare continued his dominant run, defeating Varun Sahakari 21-7, 21-5. Pratik P. Naik Borkar caused an upset, ousting third seed Krithik Reddy Sripathi 21-15, 21-14, while Samarth Sakhalkar prevailed in a thrilling three-setter over fourth seed Vedh Lotliker, winning 21-13, 18-21, 21-12. Vishwa Parab too was in fine form, dismissing Daksh Kamat 21-6, 21-11.
In the Girls U13 quarterfinals, top seed Avni Khyalia defeated Ashbah Tahasildar 21-18, 21-3, while third seed Pragya Audi breezed past Aditi Dhargalkar 21-3, 21-6. Komal Kothari registered a convincing 21-10, 21-11 win over fourth seed Kanika Pai Vernekar, and Amaira Dhumatker outclassed Nehakumari Ram 21-5, 21-9.
