MARGAO: Mount Mary High School, Chinchinim, marched into the final of the Navelim Villagers Union Trophy U-16 inter-school football tournament after edging past Infant Jesus High School, Colva, 1–0 in a hard-fought semifinal, at Rosary ground, Navelim, on Saturday.
The decisive goal came from Ashton Fernandes of Mount Mary, whose fine performance also earned him the Man of the Match award, presented by Floyd Colaco.
Mount Mary High School will now face the winners of the Perpetual Succour Convent High School, Navelim and St. Jude High School, Betalbatim in the final on November 16.
