Salcete Stallions & Govindraj Legends registered dominant wins in Sarsangan Commonwealth Developers +45 Veterans Cricket Series 2025 at Arlem Cricket Ground.

Salcete Stallions opened the day with a strong 25-run win over Pai & Khot Fighters. Electing to bat first on a batting-friendly surface, the Stallions put up an impressive 196/4 in their 20 overs. Key contributions came from Vishwesh Kamat (36), Sarvesh Kamat (35), Nilesh Prabhudesai (36) and Yatin Kaisare (23 no). Among the bowlers, Vishnu Namshikar picked up two wickets, while Shiraj Pai Khot bowled a tight spell and claimed one wicket.

Chasing 197, Pai & Khot Fighters produced a spirited effort with Sandeep Thali (28), Vishnu Namshikar (35), Shiraj Pai Khot (18) and Shailesh Mahajan (35) keeping their hopes alive. However, disciplined bowling from the Stallions restricted them to 171/6, falling short by 25 runs. For the Stallions, Yatin Kaisare led with two crucial wickets, supported by Jaiprakash Kunde, Gomakant Mahambrey, Rakesh Mallya and Paresh Prabhudesai, who picked up a wicket each.

Yatin Kaisare was named Drogaria Colvalcar Man of the Match, while Nilesh Prabhudesai, Paresh Prabhudesai, Vishwesh Kamat and Sarvesh Kamat received awards for Priority Constructions Best Batter, Deccan Fine Chemicals Best Bowler, Wakao Super Striker, and Commonwealth Developers Impact Player respectively.

In the second match of the day, Govindraj Legends produced a clinical performance to register a 48-run victory over Mapusa Dream Crushers, earning a bonus point in the process.

Batting first, the Legends posted a formidable 189/3 in 20 overs, with solid knocks from Sachin Kenkre (35), Sudin Karmali (35), Mahendra Pai Kuchelkar (36) and Siddesh Bodke (20 no). The Dream Crushers’ bowling effort was led by Laxmikant Kurade, Viraj Padiyar and Prasad Bhende, who took a wicket each.

In response, Mapusa Dream Crushers were rattled early and slipped to 71/6 at the halfway mark. Despite resistance from Rajesh Colvalcar (22) and Samrudh Hegde Desai (24), they were bowled out for 141 in 17.1 overs. Govindraj Legends’ bowlers delivered a superb all-round performance, with Siddesh Bodke (3/13) leading the attack. Sudin Kamat (2/24), Prashant Amonkar (2/31) and Yogesh Naik (1/20) contributed effectively to wrap up the innings.

Siddhesh Bodke was adjudged Drogaria Colvalcar Man of the Match, while, Sachin Kenkre, Sudin Kamat, Mahendra Pai Kuchelkar and Sudin Karmali claimed the Priority Constructions Best Batter, Deccan Fine Chemicals Best Bowler, Wakao Super Striker, and Commonwealth Developers Impact Player respectively.
