Goa registered a commanding victory over Madhya Pradesh by 7 wickets with 9 balls to spare in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy Elite T20 match held at Salt Lake JU Second Campus in Kolkata. The half-centuries by captain Suyash Prabhudesai and Abhinav Tejarana were the highlights of Goa’s impressive win. Goa won the toss and invited Madhya Pradesh to bat first. MP posted 170/6 in their allotted 20 overs. Goa successfully chased down the target by scoring 171/3 in 18.3 overs.

While chasing a challenging target, Goa lost openers Ishan Gadekar (5) and Arjun Tendulkar (16) early. However, Abhinav Tejarana and Suyash Prabhudessai steadied the innings with a crucial 89-run partnership for the third wicket. Abhinav played a blazing knock of 55 off just 33 balls, hitting 3 fours and 4 sixes. Captain Suyash Prabhudessai anchored the chase with a superb unbeaten 75, decorated with 6 fours and 3 sixes, facing only 50 balls. Along with Lalit Yadav (12*), Suyash added an unbeaten 57-run stand for the fourth wicket.

Earlier, for Madhya Pradesh, Harpreet Singh Bhatia top-scored with an unbeaten 80 off 52 balls, hitting 8 fours and 2 sixes. Aniket Verma contributed 34, while captain Rajat Patidar added 29. For Goa, Arjun Tendulkar impressed with figures of 3 wickets for 36, while Heramb Parab bagged 2 for 27 and Koushik claimed one wicket.

After four matches, Goa placed in Group B has two wins and two losses, earning 8 points. Goa will play its next match against Bihar on the 4th.

Goa’s performance in this match was outstanding, marked by fearless batting, disciplined bowling, and excellent teamwork. The confident chase under pressure once again showed that Goa is steadily emerging as a strong and competitive unit in the national T20 circuit.
